A local trustee responsible for administering a substantial trust structure, needed short-term liquidity while awaiting the disposal of a commercial asset

Client Profile

A local trustee responsible for administering a substantial trust structure, needed short-term liquidity while awaiting the disposal of a commercial asset.

Background

Hawk was approached by a local trust company that needed to release equity from a trust’s existing commercial property investment to support ongoing financial commitments while marketing the property for sale. Alongside an existing facility, a further advance of £841,000 was required and structured to run concurrently with the original loan.

The Solution

Working closely with the trustees to fully understand their requirements and time-sensitive cashflow needs, we were able to provide a bespoke funding solution tailored to the trust's circumstances. The facility was structured to maximise available liquidity while also providing flexibility around repayment.

The Outcome

Hawk successfully delivered the facility and subsequent drawdown within the required timeframe, enabling the trust to meet its ongoing obligations. When the commercial property was ultimately sold earlier than anticipated, the facilities were repaid ahead of schedule, no early redemption penalties incurred by the trust.
